My opinion :  Overrated, confused in where it goes and plentifully unmemorable, theres nothing masterful about Trainspotting that makes it deserve the credit it’s been given, but with all those flaws stripped, we have a heartfelt, well filmed, very well acted story of a couple of guys who escape the mundaneness of life and welcome with open arms the malevolent dreamy smokescreen of heroin and other illegal drugs, whilst contemplating their existence. This is one of the few highly realistic aspects of it, followed along with a couple great scenes, all set at the backdrop of a constantly changing brit punk 90s culture. It’s no Requiem For A Dream, but it does offer parents insight on what drugs are all about.  75/100
