There is plenty of drama, brilliantly choreographe There is plenty of drama, brilliantly choreographed action sequences and a level of characterization and chemistry between the characters we’ve looked up through ever since the beginning of the show that is indeed very interesting. But its the rushes atmosphere, the unthough of storylines, cheap ploys and rather unconvincing narrative that clutters this season. There are plot points which feel like first draft ideas and its as if these writers were given 10 minutes to think about every scene compared to other previous seasons where it was so meticulously well crafted that it really managed to captivate us into the world of Game Of Thrones. Characters make unsound decisions, ex machinas happen frequently which robs the show of its brilliant high pressure storyline where any character can die, and the brutality of it all has just been skinned alive by these impatient writers who just wanted to move on with their lives. The performances as for the entire series to be honest is phenomenal, and the action sequences too, but the show is starting to feel like a style and visual over structure and story. A shame.

What a season. What an insanely good season. I was What a season. What an insanely good season. I was thoroughly impressed with how everything was managed, and how things were beginning to come together with scene after scene of game of thrones brilliance. For the few moments of plot points, they are covered by what can be considered the greatest action scenes in all of game of thrones. For the very few relatively unengaging episodes (comparative to the rest of the masterful ones), we receive some of the greatest scenes in all of game of thrones. Finally, for characters that aren’t developed.. well, that’s a lie this season has some of the greatest character arcs of the entire show. From how it brings up its powerful female characters, to even the side characters (Hodor), and furthermore. It’s crude, dark, untame and classic game of thrones with intelligent, sleek writing and a higher production rate. Though it doesn’t carry the power the fourth season has, it certainly covers much more impressive visuals and perhaps at some rare points scenes.

The first half of the season is a very significant The first half of the season is a very significant drop in quality compared to the shows previous season, and is perhaps a considerable disappointment to many as the plotting is overtly unremarkable, characters aren’t fleshed out, and ulterior motives from villains are ridiculously cheap, though it does progressively get better, and it does interestingly enough as things start piecing themselves together, and we’re then treated with four last episodes of greatness that potentially extends to that of season 4, despite being a not so great season in the first place. If it weren’t for those handful of episodes and the fact that it’s a show as complex and strengthened as Game Of Thrones, then I would’ve given this a much lower grade but alas.

The best season from GOT so far. There is a clear The best season from GOT so far. There is a clear mastery in almost every level. With the introducing episode that presents the stakes and the conflicts the individuals in the show must face throughout, whilst adding development to each and every one of these characters. Because of the horrors of season III we have absolutely no idea what might happen to our well liked characters, and this only enhances in this fourth season which takes what the third had, improves those qualities, and cuts out all the flaws all other GOT seasons up until this point seemed to have. This is peak Game Of Thrones.

A brilliant third season that picks up where it le A brilliant third season that picks up where it left off and reaches once again to the heights of it’s first season. With Daenerys’s story far more visually rewarding and rich then ever before, with character dialogues and relationship far more interesting then ever before, and finally true destructive drama that pales the horrors of the first two seasons in comparison. The problem lies in the violence though; scenes of torture are far too brutal, unnecessarily grotesque, and there were many different, perhaps better ways of portraying how evil some of the antagonists are, in fact there really was better ways that could’ve pushed this third season as the leading one of the show between the ones i’ve watched. Alas, the third is brilliant, and seals to me that GOT does not care about the norms of television, nor does it care in taking the predictable and simple route for it’s characters and plots and themes. In fact it’s bravery only enhances with every passing episode, including one particular episode which might have the greatest scene of the entire show, and the saddest one... *cue cellos*

One of my favorite seasons of all time. Few can ev One of my favorite seasons of all time. Few can even scrape the surface of the monolithic complexities of human nature. And yet True Detective does so so effortlessly.

The Hateful Eight. A film that unravels cold as th The Hateful Eight. A film that unravels cold as the atmosphere it builds throughout it. Each character so mysterious, so interesting, and the entire plot feels like a playwright. Like a playright though it fortunately features some brilliant dialogue and performances alike. Though it might not carry as much action, great scenes or “Tarantinoness” as the mans other films.
