A thriller about an agent who works for a secretive organization that uses brain-implant technology to enable its operatives to inhabit other people's bodies, ultimately driving them to carry out assassinations for high-paying clients.
My opinion : Upon the credits, Possessor metaphorically eats you alive from the inside. The psychology is of sheer brutality and chaotic disruption, set accordingly to its methodologically extreme gore, that’s meant to shock and disgust the viewer. This is not an easy watch nor is it an easy concept, but Mr Cronenberg, successor of his successful father as he gently follow in on his cinematographic footsteps takes the baton and runs for dear life in sheer grandeur through the likes of this mentally disturbing science fiction flick. But part of the thrill are the outstanding performances set by these underrated actors, included with brilliant cinematography and a hauntingly cold finale. Though the pacing in the middle does seem slightly muddled. 89/100
