Overview
France, June 1944. On the eve of D-Day, some American paratroopers fall behind enemy lines after their aircraft crashes while on a mission to destroy a radio tower in a small village near the beaches of Normandy. After reaching their target, the surviving paratroopers realise that, in addition to fighting the Nazi troops that patrol the village, they also must fight against something else.
My opinion : Overlord is the newest film from J.J Abrams and ultimately his most unique. Taking place in the second world war where the Americans go fight the Nazis on a mission but end up finding far more then they intended to. Fair warning for the squeamish viewers, this film is bloody, and uses the gore to add up to the fun and the action going on in the movie. The characters are somewhat like able, the three acts are good enough though its not a very memorable film that made me think or feel any kind of emotion and honestly, it looked like the type of film a brand new director would make, an admirable one but without much gut to it. Performances are good and it wasn’t a terrible movie, far from it, just not a film i’d see myself watching again. 7.3/10
