My Opinion : Moonlight’s a tough movie, and details a harsh, brutal realistic account of an african american boy living under the tough ruins of the ghetto, who just happens to be a homosexual, something that isn’t so well received by his community. It’s a very well made film in all aspects and the performances are phenomenal with the added bonus that it absolutely does not jam SJW/LGBT politics down the viewers throat and instead takes its time to construct a poignant, touching and inevitably truthful depiction of being different in a hard world. The film does get underwhelming to say the least; sometimes downright boring even, and the ending is beautiful yet unrestrained to such an extent that it just doesn’t feel like the film gives us enough meat on the table. Suffice to say, its a well realized nearly phenomenal film in almost all regards.
