Overview
When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan's dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan's untimely death.
My Opinion : One of if not the most well realized whodunnit type crime thriller of the last few decades. Knives Out is beyond just style and substance, it’s near genius. Every character is well fleshed out and are never sure of who the murderer is, who the villain is and furthermore. Though i’d have to say that about halfway we are met with some exciting new material outside the claustrophobic home and it took me roughly five minutes to figure out who the villain really is, but the film still was this close to outsmarting me. Finally the main protagonist is extremely like able even though she seems more human and heartfelt then the rest of the suspects that all feel like they’re another character in a cluedo game which is exactly what we’re looking for here. Finally Daniel Craig is absolutely hilarious.
