Layer Cake
Overview
When a seemingly straight-forward drug deal goes awry, XXXX has to break his die-hard rules and turn up the heat, not only to outwit the old regime and come out on top, but to save his own skin...
Layer Cake’s story is of a heightened level of complexity, and therefore takes a while for us to comprehend what is going on because of Matthew Vaughn’s ruthlessly fast paced thrillers that prove to never owe a dull moment, this applies most efficiently in this film which proves to be an honorable foundation to jump start the grande performances to come of the then young Daniel Craig. Layer Cake is a beauty in its stylistic transitions, quick storyline and interesting characters but it’s lack of character development for one or two of its personnages projects it away from superstardom. 67/100
