Incendies
Overview
A mother's last wishes send twins Jeanne and Simon on a journey to Middle East in search of their tangled roots. Adapted from Wajdi Mouawad's acclaimed play, Incendies tells the powerful and moving tale of two young adults' voyage to the core of deep-rooted hatred, never-ending wars and enduring love.
My Opinion : Incendies metaphorically burns you alive with raw emotion and power, it spends no time lightening the blow. It starts out slow, and haunts progression by progression, like a deep cello at its lowest note. The film does tend to be a touch too melodramatic and overlong at times, but trust me when I tell you that its finale does not disappoint. Everything about the film lingers on in your mine long after the credits are gone. 90/100
