My opinion : SKYFALL – Released in 2012 is my personal favorite Bond film reaching from Dr. No all the way to Spectre. The sheer style of its characters and a light for the dramatic, the musical brilliance and beautifully shot scenery, the neverending action glory and the believable and clearly motivated villain makes this film one for the ages. Powered by the ever so glorious Daniel Craig whose really proved himself as one of the best bond actors of all time. The film starts off extremely well where we are introduced to the death of Bond, which obviously won’t last long since we got two more hours of film yet but it does give us the best bond opening off all time featuring a hauntingly beautiful single from Adele herself including a uniquely fresh “Bond intro” that works as an impression of how the films going to work out and that it won’t leave our hero without some battle scars. After numerous well shot, well choreographed scenes we are then met with the main villain that also has a very haunting introduction where he presents the story of the rats (you’ll know what i’m talking about) that ironically symbolizes 007 and Silva (the antagonist). The film also gets better and better with the acts which works in the audiences favor as the film progressively goes into more intricate storytelling and doubles down on the excitingly tense action. The finale of Skyfall is among the most well reaized finales of any bond film once again where we not only get a clear glimpse at 007s backstory but the climax finishes at the (spoilers) house where James lived as a kid and where he grew up to be who he is now, an agent of the crown with a license to kill. The villain also does not go down without a fight and is clear with his motivations and why he is out for blood boiling revenge and even sometimes we can’t help but praise him which could be a problem but not in this particular case. Anyways yeah the movie is a cinematic spectacle with a great story that develops furthermore the relationship of 007 with M and his backstory including M’s. The movie is as i’ve suggested, riddled with amazing cinematography from the master himself roger Deakins and thought provoking action sequences. 9.2/10
