Gerald’s Game
Overview
When her husband's sex game goes wrong, Jessie (who is handcuffed to a bed in a remote lake house) faces warped visions, dark secrets and a dire choice.
My Opinion : Gerald’s Game is one of those films whom you know is good but would never expect it to be this good. Nearly every decision made in the film by the director is expertly well-chosen and solidifies the stories excellency. With heart inducing tension sprinkled throughout (no spoilers) and a terrifying finale to accompany it as well as it being an intelligent film that works the audiences mind in seeing how she could possibly get out of those chains, it works insanely well for a horror film but what makes the film a masterpiece is the incredible character arc of our main heroine, and the metaphors that accompany it. Overall Gerald’s Game truly did stand out and honestly does deserve to be regarded to the same standards as The Shining or Misery. Though the endings use of narration can be regarded as overbearing for some. 91/100
